There is no up front charge for listing your work on Coloursoup if it is accepted by our selection panel. A gallery commission will be deducted from any sales.

4) If I exhibit my work on Coloursoup can I sell my artwork elsewhere?

Yes you can sell artwork listed on Coloursoup elsewhere (e.g. direct sale at an open studio, via another gallery). There are two provisos:

  • If you sell your artwork elsewhere you need to tell us immediately. You will be liable to Coloursoup for any commission relating to sales of artworks listed on the site as available for sale on our database
  • If you do market your artwork elsewhere (e.g. on a personal website or through another gallery) the sales price must be the same as listed on Coloursoup.

Yes artists living in other European Economic Area or Switzerland

    6) How do I know when my artwork is sold? What do I do once it's sold?

We will contact you by phone or email when your artwork sells. We will then courier to you custom-made packaging materials - you will then need to pack the artwork, and arrange for a courier to pick up the artwork.

    7) When and how do I get paid for sold artwork?

We will pay you amounts outstanding (net of VAT and our commission) once the payment from the customer has settled and the return period for the artwork has expired. This typically takes 16 - 28 days after shipping of the painting

You do - the rights to your original artwork stay with you

    9) Can clients living outside the UK purchase my art on Coloursoup?

    11) What happens if an artwork is damaged in transit?

Coloursoup arranges and pays for insurance of all artwork in transit - either from artist to the customer, or returns from the customer to the artist. We do not insure the artwork at other times - you will still need to arrange appropriate insurance of artwork held in your studio
